All About Me

Calli (Kah-lee) : noun, a 21 year old female, San Jose State student.
I was born and raised in Long Beach, California. Art has been my passion since a young age. I would define art as anything from drawing, painting, sculpture, to music, fashion and dance. I found trouble transitioning this passion into a career, so when choosing a major I looked to my second favorite interest, writing. I joined the Spartan Daily last semester which proved to be challenging for me because I am a magazine journalist at heart. Providing facts with little bias or voice and attributing sources in each line was one of my biggest challenges last semester. This semester I am back at the Daily as a Assistant Feature's Editor as well as a staff writer for Access and hope to get my voice back as a writer once again. As far as career goals go, my ultimate dream would be to get an internship at Smithsonian Magazine once I graduate and eventually work my way up into a staff writing position at their magazine, Travel Magazine (or go the Conde Nast route and work for W), possibly later write a book, paint some paintings and travel the world. As for today I would just like to pass this Mcom 100W class. (214 words)
